He swung his lantern three times and slowly the schooner appeared. The French police knocked on their door. They told him very bad news. The four year-old orphan boy, Jacques cried when he found out that his parents died in a motorcycle crash. A day later he was found wandering the streets with a threadbare sweater and pants. He was taken to an orphanage three blocks down from where his parents died. In three years he was adopted by a nice loving family who treated him well. A year later they died. Jacques went back to the orphanage and was about to be adopted by a cruel, unloving family, but he was kidnapped by the fifty year old, magical Captain Vincent, wearing a sailor hat, a long tan coat and a fluffy white beard. Vincent takes him to a dock in Paris, France in the middle of that night. They found a beat-up motorcycle, but they ignore it. It was foggy and pitch black except for the blur of the street lights. Vincent tells Jacques that he knows who Jacques’s dad is and that he isn’t dead. Vincent swung his lantern three times and they get on the magical boat, the beautiful boat, Tori. After they get on the boat, they search all over Paris and don’t see a sign of him. When they were searching in the smallest, coldest, Faroe Island, the boat disappeared, and Jacques found Captain Vincent dead. He was on another journey, finding the murderer. He searched for a long time and couldn’t find him. Later, Jacques saw smoke on the other side of the island and goes exploring. When he gets there he sees he another man dead. This time Jacques was running back to his side of the island, when someone stopped him. The figure says “Jacques!” and Jacques asked “How do you know my name?” The man says “I am your real father.” The dad tells many stories about his journey to the boat. Jacques found out his dad murdered the captain and the other man. He also found out that the dad killed the captain for his safety because he thought the captain was dangerous. They talked and talked about almost everything and he found out his real name. “Jacques Henri!” Jacques exclaimed, “It is perfect. I love it”. He recited it on and on all night. In the morning they explored the island and found a good spot for a house. They built a snug log cabin and lived there until they made a boat and sailed back to France. The dad went into custody and got arrested. But, that’s another story.
